On 1st September 2015, Lancing United Youth FC started conversations with Lancing FC about the possibility of merging the two clubs to form one ‘community club’. The new community club that will come out of the merger will run seamlessly from U6’s right through to adult football. It will give boys, girls and those with disabilities access to football using some of the best facilities in the whole of Sussex, including access to a Premier League, Category One, Elite Performance Academy situated right on our doorstep.

Our plan is to run the two clubs with separately elected committees, with separate funds for youth and adult football and have an overarching sub- committee made up of representatives of both sides and with an independently elected member acting as mediator.

    Why are we doing this?

Since the early days (when we were known as Sompting Thistle,) through to our current guise as Lancing United Youth, the club have never truly had ‘a home’. We have never had a clubhouse, a ground we could call ours and somewhere as a community we could meet and feel proud of. Lancing FC provides that - access to Culver Road and some of the best facilities in Sussex and for a youth set up, what a fantastic first experience of football. Our players will train and play on a brand new 3G pitch inside the Culver Road stadium from an early age, utilising regular Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday training slots.

Lancing FC adults currently draw players from all around Sussex with only a small portion heralding from the Lancing area. By merging with an established youth football club whose current membership is 130 players and growing weekly, there is now a clear pathway from youth to adult football for children in the Lancing community. Lancing FC have ambitious plans to establish themselves in the Ryman league, a move that will encourage players to stay within Lancing rather than look to Worthing or farther afield and will also bring additional footfall and trade to local businesses, we want to build a club that the community feels both proud and part of.

    Rebranding

As part of this merger all our Squads match kits, training kits & equipment will need to be re-branded to match Lancing FC. We are looking for any business that would like to join us on our new adventure, helping us work towards our community club goal. There are many types of sponsorship that are available …. Match Kits, Training Kits, Tournament Sponsors, Pitch, through to the purchase of a secure storage unit for the clubs match and training equipment.

We would really like you to have a look at our asponsorship brochure. Please click here to view. This gives the details of the different types of sponsorship, and what the club can offer in return, along with the estimated costs.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss the sponsorship options further please feel free to contact me.

    Register your interest here .....

    Kind Regards

The Business Studies Degree Apprenticeship programme has been developed in partnership with a range of employers. It is an exciting and flexible way to develop both your existing and new employees in all aspects of business management, sales, finance and human resources. The student is employed full-time by the business and attends the University (Bognor Regis campus) on a Day Release basis.

The cost of the programme is partially met by the Government’s Skills Funding Agency 2/3 and the employer 1/3.

To explain more, we will be holding a series of briefings exclusively for employers at colleges around West Sussex as well as the University over the next few weeks.  These events will explain how you can get involved as well as an opportunity to meet students interested in careers in business studies. The dates and venues of these briefings will be confirmed as soon as possible.

There will also be an opportunity to meet other local employers as well as the partners involved in delivering this programme.

If you are interested in attending and would like to receive more details please contact me on a.adams@chi.ac.uk

Tim Loughton Newsletter - February 2016

    Dear Constituent

Welcome to the February edition of my constituency e-newsletter and apologies for its length but there is a lot going on and I have been receiving record amounts of email in particular. I am also pleased to announce that my main website has received a makeover and now contains more information than ever and I hope is simple to navigate. Have a look for yourself here: www.timloughton.com There are a number of archived items still to be migrated across but all the current information you need should be here.

You will notice that I am increasingly using video podcasts on topical local and national issues to get across a quick message about my position and up to date details. I will be collating these all in one place shortly on my Tell Tim website where there will also be more details about the series of ‘Talk to Tim’ meetings I have been holding and where you can respond to the various questions raised and surveys. That site will also be getting a makeover.

I have also enhanced my presence on social media and routinely post a lot of information on my Facebook page here: facebook.com/TimLoughtonEWAS which is obviously interactive and seems to reach a wider audience and where I can often link to more detailed information on my main website. If you do not follow me already then I also post updates on my Twitter account @TimLoughton.

The main news of the month has of course been the announcement that we are to hold the long anticipated EU referendum on 23 June 2016. I have set out my own position for voting to Leave on my website and Facebook page and look forward to debating this very important constitutional issue with constituents over the coming weeks and months.

An important event taking place this month in Parliament is of course the Chancellor's annual Budget. This year's Budget will be announced by the Chancellor on 16 March 2016. I am sure the statement will be as well publicised and covered as ever and I am sure you will all have many questions to ask, which I am perfectly happy to answer for you.

As usual if there is anything you would like to see included in future issues then please do let me know.

    Best wishes

    Tim
