At 9:30am on Wednesday, LBP closed tickets sales for the LBP Charity World Cup Draw. Damian Pulford, LBP Chairman and MD of Sussex Transport then pulled names from a hard hat with Suzy as witness.

The team names were carefully folded in four so that nothing was visible as Damian pulled the team names out of the hat. These were then allocated in ticket purchase order to businesses. As we sold 24 tickets, we covered the £1,000 prize available to the winning business, plus this raised a surplus of £200 for Beehive Care to help with their local Dementia Care Services.
As there are 48 teams in the World Cup, LBP decided to allocate two teams per ticket purchased. Damian had no idea what the ticket purchase order was and it’s important this is stated as UK Pick & Pack, one of Damian’s companies matched France, the favourite for the tournament. This was in no way a fix, as the other 5 teams Damian pulled for his companies were pretty bad ones.
On Regency Radio yesterday lunchtime, Jay, David and Christabel kindly discussed the draw and how the Regency Radio Team had matched with host nation Canada and Norway. They would much prefer to have matched with Spain, but unlucky as Spain was nabbed by Addev-Parafix. They also mentioned UK Pick & Pack matching with France and Shoreham Vehicle Auctions matched with England!

As we all know you can never tell who will be triumphant with the World Cup and we may very well see a miracle win this year. LBP will keep you updated and we would like to wish all participants the best of luck.
