Works Status: On Schedule

Rain is obviously welcome at this time of year for our gardens, but not so for the LBP Road Improvement Works. The pouring rain in the early hours of this morning had a real impact on the works, but FM Conway remained on site to wait it out and to keep on schedule.
As a result of their hard work, the surface binding and new surface are complete in Spencer Road, but some of the lining will be completed tonight instead. Blenheim Road has been planed ready for resurfacing works tonight.
Concern has been raised about the weather conditions impacting the road surface setting process. Luckily the temperature has dropped a little since yesterday so hopefully the temperature will enable the surface to set quicker today, however the continued rain could have an impact.
Please can all drivers travelling on Spencer Road and Blenheim Road today, take real care to slow down. Please can HGV drivers avoid turning their wheel whilst not in motion as this will increase the chance of the surface being damaged before it fully sets.
Along with the Blenheim Road resurfacing and lining tonight, we will also see the first section of Chartwell Road planed ready for resurfacing on Thursday night. Staff will be onsite from 8pm tonight to redirect vehicles the wrong way around the one-way system, with vehicles entering and exiting on the same piece of road. Please drive slowly tonight to help avoid any head-on collisions.
The rain is forecast to be with today until this afternoon and then due to dry up ready for this evening's works, so let's hope the forecast is accurate.
