Welcome to the first edition of the Coastal West Sussex (CWS) Partnership newsletter, designed to keep you informed about our activities that support the growth of the coastal economy.
Working closely with businesses, local authorities, education institutions and other partners, we are one of five Area Partnerships that contribute to Coast to Capital, the Local Enterprise Partnership which was recently tasked by government to produce a Strategic Economic Plan.
CWS offers exciting opportunities for growth and has some excellent development and regeneration sites that can deliver new employment space, new housing and revitalise our town centres.
These sites have the potential to transform the area's economy, bringing new jobs and homes which are desperately needed if we are to create an additional 8000 jobs by 2020 just to keep the employment rate at the current 75% - to improve that picture we will need to create more jobs. The two largest development opportunities will come from Enterprise Bognor Regis (EBR) and the Shoreham Harbour Regeneration area.
2014 will undoubtedly bring new opportunities and challenges and you can keep up to date with our news and events listings online at www.coastalwestsussex.org.uk
