(Electronic copies to follow) It was explained that these designs were a starting point meant to promote discussion. They were designed on the premise that they need to be - Simple - Help people who are lost - Clear so people can see at a glance where they are/where they need to go It was agreed that Lancing Business Park should be on everyone’s postal address if they are within the boundaries. 4 Main points 1.Should Marlborough Road be split in to Marlborough Road East and Marlborough Road West? 2. Exit should be listed as Exit (North), Exit (South) 3. Ref 6.should read Marlborough Road not Chartwell Road 4. CCTV should be added in some way “Smile You Are On CCTV”? 5. Should there be No Entry signs placed at Chartwell Road/Marlborough Rd Jcts? Signs are proposed to be 900 x 900 In some cases they will be in the same place as the old ones In other cases new locations will be needed CH said that Adur & Highways would be happy to check and advise. CB said its likely there’s a 3-4 week timescale to create signs. ACTION: PT & CB to make amendments noted PT & CB to send final proposal to CS CS to send round on email for final comments CS to send to WSCC Highways (Dan Witcher) and Adur DC Planning (Carlos Hone) 3.AOB CS explained about “Health Is Your Business” project A new project is aiming to improve community health from Adur to Arun by visiting people at their places of work and leisure. Karen Davies has been appointed as Workplace & Community Health Improvement Nurse and will be working in Adur to help people with busy lifestyle to take their health seriously. The role of Workplace & Community Health Improvement Nurse has been facilitated by WSCC, and is also supported by Adur District Council, Worthing Borough Council and the PCT. A large part of Karen’s role will involve carrying out personal health reviews, which will include checks on blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, body fat percentage. Karen said “Working people spend the greater part of their lives at work, so the workplace is a good and currently under-utilised location to influence the adoption of healthy lifestyles. Men are less likely to visit their GP surgeries, reducing the chance of prevention and early detection of conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.” In the week beginning 11th February Karen will be on site at Lancing Business Park to provide free Blood Pressure tests and advice to employees. Location & date TBA. ACTION: CS to organise location (possibly Tuk Tuk?)
